Helping Children with Down Syndrome Reach Their Full Potential

Education

01.

— Love & Security

Doctor after doctor and educator after educator have shared with us that just loving your child and providing a safe, secure home is the best thing you can do to establish the best possible learning, growth and development environment.

02.

— Early Intervention

Research has proven that it is important to meet a child’s challenges as early as possible for the greatest development.

03.

— IEP

Individualized Education Programs designed with your child’s best interest in mind.

04.

—Engaged Teachers

An informed, educated, engaged and resourced teacher makes all the difference.

05.

— Inclusive Classroom

It is important that children with special needs be included in typical school classrooms.  This benefits both the child with special needs and the typical child.

06.

— Social Skills

All educational settings should provide an opportunity for children with special needs to develop social skills.

Educational Ideas!

Choice Boards

A Choice Board is a visual organizer that allows your child to see and choose options for their next activity.  They seem to work well for children with disabilities, and Alex really likes working with them.

Visual Schedule

A Visual Schedule is a graphic organizer that shows your child the activities of the next time period.  Like Choice Boards, they work very well for children with disabilities, and Alex is comfortable using them.
